Prison Administration Tortures Inmates in Ashkelon

Gaza, ( prison administration exercised strenuous measures against the inmates of Ashkelon prison, including strip searches and solitary confinement.

An inmate of the prison told that more than 200 police officers in addition to Masada unit stormed the prison and whipped its inmates.

No sooner has the administration in cooperation with Masada unit eased the oppression after the death of the prisoner Mohammed Al Ashkar out of torture, the barbarous behaviors resumed against the inmates.

He added that "as the inmates went on hunger strike in protest of the overuse of oppressive measures, a large force stormed the prison on the pretext of searching for cell phones and messed up the inmates’ holdings forcing them to strip naked during the inspection”.

The Israeli force inspected cells of 18 and 19 that include Hamas-affiliated inmates and isolated some of them such as Abu Muslim Abu Hmeid.
